Preamble of the Alpha Beta Gamma Constitution

That academic excellence among community, junior and technical college students enrolled in a business curricula may be nurtured, that opportunity may be provided for leadership training and an intellectual climate for ideas and ideals be fostered; and that scholars may be imbued with desire for continuing education, we dedicate ourselves as members of Alpha Beta GammaTM. Among us, membership is a privilege earned by qualifications, honor and service. In the conduct of our activities, truth shall be our quest, diligence our staff, and achievement our purpose.

The Chi Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Beta Gamma was formed in 1991 by Associate Professor of Business & Commerce, Kenneth Guffey.

Induction of New Members

  • The Chi Epsilon Chapter holds a mandatory induction each semester. New ABG members are inducted during a formal candle light ceremony. Certificates are presented to the inductees by the faculty advisor and the chapter president. Following the ceremony, a reception is held for the new ABG Inductees, family, friends, faculty, and staff.
The Chi Epsilon Chapter Believes In:
  • Academic Achievement
  • Community Service
  • Leadership
  • Scholarship
  • Fellowship
  • Sharing
  • Caring
  • And Giving

Service to the Community

  • The Chi Epsilon Chapter’s active members are required to perform community service activities. This is achieved through formal and informal consultation with local nonprofit and community based organizations. The activities are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents. There is a heartwarming effect that is felt both by the giver and receiver of community service. It promotes the unselfish giving of ones time to help strangers in need. The goal through community service is to encourage individuals to develop a sense of personal responsibility to the community and nation. Community service allows everyone to be a winner.

Fundraising Activities

  • The Chi Epsilon Active Members are also required to perform various fundraising activities during the academic year. The money that is raised is used to purchase stoles and tassels for active members completing their responsibilities, pay for club activities such as the annual Christmas Dinner, and various other activities. The club is also planning on instituting a scholarship for the most active member in the next academic year. The club President and Vice President of the Chi Epsilon Chapter coordinated fundraising activities in conjunction with the Faculty Advisor.
