ELIGIBLE STUDENTS
- Eligible students receive a
letter in the Fall or Spring semester notifying them about the
Orientation meeting.
- You MUST attend the
Orientation meeting, induction, and pay the dues to become a
member.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- You must have completed 15
credit hours with at least 12 hours of your work taken in
courses leading to a degree recognized by Southwest.
- In addition, you must
have demonstrated academic excellence by attaining a 3.0 GPA or
its equivalent in business courses as well as a 3.0 overall
average.
INVITATION LETTERS
- Invitations for membership to eligible students are mailed
at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. If you
meet the requirements, did not receive a letter, and want to
become a member, contact the chapter advisor,
Bettie
Abernathy-Phillips.

BENEFITS TO THE COMMUNITY
- Alpha Beta Gamma provides a vehicle to honor outstanding
business professionals and community leaders through National
Honorary Membership in the Society
- The Society also provides a vehicle to bring business
professionals on campus to speak to and assist business
students.
- The Society also takes part in many community service
events, such as "Toys for Tots", "Coats for Kids", "Relay for
Life", and Target House just to name a few.

CLUB DUES
- The club dues are currently $60.00. This is a
one-time, non-refundable fee. Club dues are used to pay
the national dues and for your certificate and other club
functions. (ABG T-Shirts are an additional $10, and must be worn
at service and fund-raising events.)
GPA DEFICIENCIES
- If your GPA falls below a 3.0 before you graduate you have
one semester to bring it back up to a 3.0. If you fail to
increase your GPA for two consecutive semesters you will be
removed from the Chapter & National Roles.
- Further more, you will not be eligible for ABG honors at
graduation.

DEGREE/GRADUATION BROCHURE/TRANSCRIPT
- When you pickup your "Intent to Graduate" package from the
graduation analyst on campus you will need to complete the
Intent to Graduate form on this web
site to ensure that your membership in ABG is reflected on
your transcript and in the graduation materials.
- GPAs will be verified by the Chapter Advisor before your
membership is reflected.
- Failure to complete this process may result in a delay or
omission of your information on your Degree/Graduation
Brochure/Transcripts
STOLES & TASSELS
- Stoles and Tassels may be acquired in two ways:
- Social Members may earn their stole and tassel by
completing two service events and
three fund raising events per semester, in
two consecutive semesters. They can also
purchase their stole/tassel by completing
the form on the "Stole & Tassel" page.
- Academic members can purchase their Stole and Tassel
by completing the form on the
"Stole & Tassel" page.
BECOME A CHAPTER OFFICER
- Officer elections are annually in the spring semester.
All candidates must be active members and have a minimum of a
3.0 at the end of the Spring semester. Candidates are
encouraged to campaign throughout the year.
- In the event that an officer's position is not filled the
Chapter Advisor may appoint an officer to that position.
