The requirements for membership are outlined by the National Organization as follows:

  • To be eligible for membership Alpha Beta Gamma, a student shall be regularly enrolled in a business curriculum in an educational institution empowered to offer Associate Degrees in Business Areas; shall be carrying a full-time load (as defined by the local institution), or if a part-time student, shall have completed 15 credit hours.
  • At least 12 hours of the student's work must be in courses leading to a business degree.
  • In addition to these requirements, a student shall also be of good moral character, shall possess recognized qualities of citizenship, and shall have established academic excellence or a 3.0 GPA or its equivalent in business courses as well as a 3.0 overall
    average and shall be in the top 35 percent of the class.

Additional requirements for the Chi Epsilon chapter:

  • In addition to the National Organizations requirements students MUST attend the Induction rehearsal and ceremony to become a member of the Chi Epsilon Chapter. If there are extenuating circumstances and the student cannot attend contact the chapter advisor.
  • Dues must be paid no later than one week after the Orientation meeting.

Chapter Officers

The Chapter elects officers each spring.  Those officers are:

President
Vice-President
Secretary
Treasurer

Chapter officers must be Active members and maintain the minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Honorary Membership

  • In addition to the recognition of business honor students, Alpha Beta Gamma exists to recognize outstanding contributors to the world of business and business education. Student officers in conjunction with the support of the chapter advisers recommend distinguished scholars, administrators, public servants and business professions for initiation into the Society of Alpha Beta Gamma.

The recipient of Honorary Membership will receive a special Alpha Beta Gamma National Honorary Membership diploma.

There are three types of membership: Active, Regular, and Honorary

Active Membership

  • An active member is someone who meets the requirements above and participates by attending two meetings, working three fund-raisers and two service projects for one semester.
  • You will receive special recognition at the Induction Ceremony. One student that goes beyond what is required of them as an active member will receive special recognition for their dedication and faithful work.

Regular Membership

  • A regular member is one who is currently enrolled in classes and meets all the requirements outlined for membership by the International Organization.
  • 3.0 GPA/Completion of fifteen credit hours with at least twelve hours in your declared degree field, excluding developmental and credit given for work with a P grade.
  • As a regular member, you are encouraged to attend meetings on a regular basis and work toward the betterment of the organization. Fund-raisers and service projects are suggested.
  • The lack of participation may disqualify you from some events.
